Scalable Multifamily Housing | East Bay, CA

This project was developed in response to an RFP in Oakland, with the goal of creating a flexible and repeatable housing model that could adapt to different sites across the Bay Area. The design explores a modular approach to multifamily housing, allowing developments to scale from as few as two units to as many as twenty, depending on the size and needs of each location.

Three distinct site scenarios were designed to test how the system could respond to different urban conditions while maintaining a consistent architectural identity. The apartments were envisioned for veteran families, with unit types ranging from one to three bedrooms to accommodate a variety of household sizes.

The project focuses on simplicity, efficiency, and dignity, aiming to create homes that feel stable and welcoming rather than temporary or generic. By combining adaptability with thoughtful design, this proposal offers a housing solution that can grow, repeat, and respond to communities throughout the Bay Area.
